Groove cut by clamshell cold cutting machine

The above drawing is the groove requirement from customer. First demand from 2019.

A Taiwan piping system company, like to cut the groove for their clamp.

To cut a groove (B) on the pipe end is a easy job, but how to control the length of A and make the operation friendly is a problem.

And which type tool will use is the problem as well we faced.

The above is the plan we submit:

1.  Use the carbide inserts and tool holder,  is economical than the HSS tool. Inserts width 8mm and 6mm

2. Make 4 support legs lifting the machine, in order to easy control the length of A before the machine mount on the pipe tightly.

3. Use the different thickness spacer adjust the height of the inserts.
