Operation Content: 3mm thick 825 nickel-chromium alloy clad pipe groove processing

II. Technical Challenges

825 nickel-chromium alloy hardness reaches HRC38-42

The bonding strength between the cladding and the carbon steel base is ≥350MPa

The thermal conductivity is only 1/3 of carbon steel

This material is very hard, and if the cutter head is not fixed tightly, it will cause the cutting tool to retreat

III. Solution

Tool System Optimization:

Customized PCBN composite blades

Adopt stepped cutter head design

Cutter head clamping force increased to 800N (conventional value 300N)

IV. Project Achievements

NODHA uses its own special cutter head, feeds once every 2 rotations, and then succeeds.
